One of the best ways to partner with Santos Church is by bringing a Short Term Missions team to Detroit and getting hands on experience serving people in the city.
When you partner with Santos Church, you will be given the opportunity to tangibly meet people right where they are, and show them the love of Christ.
We are also committed to helping disciple, train, and teach the students and teams who come and spend time with us in Detroit, and will offer a variety of opportunities to pour back into your team while you are here.
What is the Reconciliation Table?
The Reconciliation Table is a 65 foot table in the center of a Detroit neighbor that is all about Reconciling people back to God through a dignified presentation of who He is.
We take Jesus literally when he says in Luke 14 “when you give a banquet, invite the people who can never pay you back”
We set the table for our neighbors. Always.
We host mission teams all summer in Detroit!
On any given week throughout the summer, teams will help with:
-Assisting with Kids Outreaches
-Community Efforts in SW
-Throwing banquets at the Reconciliation Table as Jesus describes in Luke 14.
-Gardening at the Reconciliation Table Garden.
-Serving at adopt-a-block - activities vary from: feeding people and meeting tangible, small needs, going out and serving meals to the homeless, cleaning up the streets, mowing someones lawn or something else that meets a tangible need, serving at the Santos House (cleaning, yard work, construction projects)
-School Assemblies at Detroit Public Schools (summer school)
-Construction projects, gutting and renovating (depending on skill sets and present needs)
-Boarding up houses
-Passing out flyers for our Kids events and Sunday services.
-Random acts of Kindness
-Working on the Santos House, our ministry house. There are a variety of projects that have yet to be completed there (like painting)
price: $250 per person (if you are staying at the Santos House) Price includes 5 days of ministry, training, discipleship. Housing at the Santos House, breakfast and lunch are included. The price is reduced if you are covering your own lodging and breakfast. Contact us for more information.
We also ask you to consider raising an additional project budget to help us with a construction project or a large outreach. (ie - money for backpacks to throw a backpack giveaway, or for the lumber if you are building a section of our library, etc.)
